Pac-Man was acclaimed by critics for its improvements to the original gameplay and for having a female protagonist some have described it as superior to Pac-Man. The company ultimately collected the same royalties on each cabinet as they had with Pac-Man.
While development started without Namco's blessing, company president Masaya Nakamura was brought in and provided feedback on the player character's design. Pac-Man, before the final name was chosen for being easier to pronounce. Multiple names were considered for the game, including Super Pac-Man, Miss Pac-Man and Mrs. Midway purchased the project and enlisted GCC to use the game as a basis for the sequel to Pac-Man. However, due to previous legal action with Atari, GCC was forced to present the project to Midway, the North American distributor of Pac-Man. General Computer originally made the game as a modification kit for the original Pac-Man, titled Crazy Otto. Eating the larger "power pellets" lets the player eat the ghosts, who turn blue and flee.
Controlling the title character, Pac-Man's wife, the player is tasked with eating all of the pellets in an enclosed maze while avoiding four colored ghosts.

Pac-Man proves that women can eat ghosts just as well as men can. But the standards for Xbox Live Arcade are a bit higher than what this game offers. Pac-Man sounds like it's worth five bucks to you, then you're in luck.
If the idea of a bare-bones emulation of Ms. Pac-Man is a straight-up emulation of the original game with no additions beyond an online scoreboard, some achievements, and colorful side graphics that surround the emulation. Like the other Namco releases for Xbox Live Arcade, Ms. There are now multiple mazes, the fruit hops around, and the cutscenes are slightly more elaborate. It's the same basic dot-chomping, maze-navigating concept, but it's expanded. Pac-Man is the lady-friendly follow-up to Pac-Man.
